Re: [lfc] Re: Autobiographies

Just wait for the Hodgson memoir: "My 6 months of glory at Anfield" - 7
chapters spread over 8 pages.

I've read the autobiographies of Shanks, Paisley, Kenny (My Liverpool
Home is also on its way), Hansen, Barnes, Gerrard and Carra. I enjoyed
every single page of each book but since the teenagers of today don't
know much about the 70s, 80s, 90s they might find the more recent
stuff more interesting. I think Carra's book is a bit better than
Gerrard's. Both touch upon similar topics: boyhood, becoming a
footballer, LFC and the changes that have occurred over the years,
Istanbul etc. But TBH I found Carra's more honest and better written.
Just my two pence worth. I would also strongly recommend "Secret Diary
of a Liverpool Scout", a book on Geoff Twentyman. Fascinating stuff
about how he and the bootroom operated back then and how he was a
master at unearthing gems like Keegan, Neal, Clemence, Rush etc.
