There's way too much angst over the pre-season schedule.
 
The most telling comment from the club about the far east tour was that the
sponsors were very happy. If it was really about football then we wouldn't be
going. That tour was payback for all the millions invested and whether or not
the opposition was fit-for-purpose was irrelevant.

 
As for last night - well I have no idea why this one was organized given we've
only just got back from a long trip and we're off to Norway soon. For those who
are reacting hysterically, I suggest you replace 'Liverpool' with 'a Liverpool
XI'. It's common practice to give the stiffs a run out pre-season (a Scum XI
drew 1-1 with Tranmere last week for example) so I wouldn't read too much into
it. I doubt that eleven will ever see duty together in a competitive fixture

 
I expect to be seeing a more normal formation in the games over the next couple
of weeks.
