Not quite sure what to make of this remark.

If you're suggesting that I'm in my mid-late 20s then you're a real sweetie (and
a chocolate orange will be in the post) :-)

If you're suggesting that I prefer older players then I'm not sure where you got
that impression. I think a mix is preferable. I'm also not averse to signing a
really old player if it's appropriate and if it's free - a Gary Mac type signing
if you like.

But I do really like to see players coming through the reserves - be it a
youngster or someone older. I mention the latter because it doesn't seem to
happen these days. Talk on the List yesterday of old hatchet head himself (i.e.
Terry Mac) reminded me that there was a time when a new signing did not
necessarily walk straight into the first team. Terry Mac has to earn his place
and he more than made the most of it when it arrived!
