Some discussions on the YNWA forum that he has issues with Carroll [and Torres for that matter] and that Newcastle supporters felt the same way when Atkinson was ref, in his dealing with Carroll.

There's no doubt to me that Atkinson has a serious bug up is arse when refing us. You know before the match that he's going to give you nothing and are never disappointed [if you know what I mean].

There should be a process where a club can turn to the chief of referees and say, please review the last X many matches of ours involving this ref....we think he has a bias against us.

In Atkinson's case though it just amazes me he ever got to the top level, he's that poor.
