That's very true. When we did those moves in the past we were very much the
top of the tree and virtually every player and his dog wanted to play for
us. Now we're trading largely off former glories, and you can't do that
forever.

McManaman did ok in terms of trophies - though most of those he 'earned' by
sitting on the bench.
