Sol: I can only think that he is buying himself time until he pull the rabbit out of the hat after every game. I also think he is trying to manage expectations in terms of both himself and the fans by not letting us think we are world beaters.

Can he not imagine the appalling impact his statements must be having on morale? The non-world class players will be doubting their talents (such as they are!) The more experienced top players, like Gerrard, must be wondering if they have the time to hang around through yet another rebuilding process while there are

Sol: You are aboslutely correct in regards to his comments. They are doing more harm than good to the players and the fans. I am interested to see how the new owners react to this!
