But he's not really a £35m player. That's just a label and a poor one at that. That's my point. Chelsea wanted Torres. Liverpool wouldn't sell him without getting his replacement, Carroll, lined up. So Chelsea basically negotiated with Newcastle, indirectly, giving the Geordies a blank check.
I couldn't care less what the label is. I only care that he's an effective player and he's shown enough to me to be excited about his potential going forward.

I think that's more to do with Suarez than Carroll though. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt very much he's going to be a £35 mil player.
