Makes perfect sense. I slag refs a lot, but agree it's not an easy job and we get to watch so many replays that they don't.
I think the important thing is getting decisions right and those that say it all evens out in the end are delusional. I still think you could limit each team to a number of appeals per game [I've often said 2] and that would limit the disruption and also put the onus on the managers and not the refs.
Look at the second pen in today's game. Does Ginsoak, use one of his appeals? It might go his way, or he might blow one that he's need later. Either way the pressure switches fro the ref to him, as it should, as he's getting paid a fortune compared to the ref.
