Luiz probably should have been sent off....the ref was looking the other way! But great the way the pundits were saying that if Atkinson didn't see it the league should ban him after the fact.....sort of like saying the elbow to the head wasn't as bad...t**ts.
They were also trying to say it was a soft pen...what? Look up soft pen and there's apicture of Berbatov going down to Aggers garlic breath.
Vidic is usually shit against us.
Michael Owen wasn't born when JFK was shot. But I do have it on good authority that the year these decisions all balance out has been brought forward to Star Date 65378.>
I would agree that more often than not the "big" teams get the benefit of doubt, that's only natural. We'd all figure it more likely a Barnes, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Messi etc was likely fouled when trying to dribble past a defender of limited ability playing for Wigan, Stoke, Getafe etc. I'd say the same applies in any domestic league, wether it's Serie A, La Liga or League 2, the World Cup or Africa Cup of Nations. It's the notion that there is a deliberate bias that I think is daft, and the idea that refs or any football governing body has a deliberate policy towards a "big" club is like hearing two kids arguing over "cheating" when one lost a game of bloody checkers or marbles. I thought Berbatov went down as easy against Agger, as Ngog did at Anfield against Birmingham. I don't doubt a Scunthorpe fan would tell you about peno's they've conceded when a player has gone down like a lead balloon. You just think Man U get more of those calls because you follow them more than any other team apart from Liverpool. There are no doubt conspiracy theories in Portugal, Holland, Argentina etc. It's all relative to the amount of attention you pay. When it comes to the Prem, way too many fans have a pre-occupation with Man Utd, when their energy and passion for the game should only be directed in to supporting their own team. If we were sitting top of the table, 5 points clear, would you give a rats arse about Rooney's elbow or Fergies opinion of a penalty? Did you care so much about Man Utd's fortunes and the decisions in their games when they were relegated to the old Diviiosn 2? No you did not, because there is no conspiracy theory to be obsessed by when we are winning the title and Man U, Chelsea etc are struggling to finish 5th.
Keith
