Re: [lfc] The Cold Light of Day

Thinking about this a little more...we've now lost Torres [let's face it...he's gone....I dread to think what the fans will do if he plays at Anfield again for us] Mascherano and Alonso...three of the best at what they do. There's not much sign that we'll be able to attract players of similar quality. Every time one of these leave we become less attractive. How much of Suarez coming was based on playing with Torres....This is a really slippery slope that we are on.

It's a pity that British players have become so ordinary, because it would be far better if we could load up with those players. That's not meant to be xenophobic, in fact if you think about it, it's just the opposite. But in reality are you really going to get foreign players hanging around for 6/7/8/9 years?

"Rush went and Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge came in". Sure they did, because we were top dogs and they wanted to come here.....but now? But football has changed and sadly, not for the better.
