I think you are being excessively pessimistic here, if the club can
establish themselves as one that is going to spend a good amount each
season, pay competitive wages and have some success on the pitch then we
are going to have no problems whatsoever in attracting new players,
tarring the new owners with the same brush as the former muppets is a
bit too harsh when they have responded to team needs during this
transfer window despite it typically offering less value than the summer
ones.

In general plenty of players don't hang around as much as they used to
in the past, but if the aim with the current owners is to get players in
before their peak, have them for a few years at that level and then flog
them on before their value plummets then the aim is probably to keep
them around 6/7 years anyway i.e. one contract and a renewal.
