The trouble is that the weather has given Roy the perfect excuses for the
next month:
If we play badly then we are rusty from not having player during the past
couple of weeks; and who are the owners listening to to get the true voice
of the fans? They aren't as familiar with the game as us, so they will be
listening to the views of their trusted advisors. Now they will come from
within the club. What's to say that they aren't allies of Roy, spinning how
wonderful he is? Yes, they will see the true picture eventually, but that
doesn't mean that they will axe him before the end of the season.
For a long time we have wanted stable owners who do things the right way. At
the moment we appear to have that - even if that means acting in a way that
we don't like because we all want rid of Roy. I think the owners take the
view that this season is a write-off and aren't going to take any knee-jerk
actions. What I hope is happening is that behind the scenes they have (or
are about to) decided that Roy isn't the right man and are working to bring
someone new in for next season.
