While it didn't work out with Souness due in large part to some very
poor purchases, in his favour he did have a clear plan and was generally
trying to reduce the average age of the squad as well, whereas the only
plan roy seems to have is to up the average age of the team and set us
up like we are a bigger budget version of the bottom half of the table
style he has always played.
