Re: [lfc] Re:Sky's Sunday football, the last word.

David Pleat mad a good comment during the Man City game when David Platt was showing the sub a chart and the camera man was snooping in on it. He basically said you shouldn't have to tell a professional footballer that in depth instructions, he should have the natural instinct and ability to go out and do the job.......they're all making football too complicated!!

"and a new DM getting used to his team mates and tactics in a new country" There might be just a bare touch of merit in this, but any half decent footballer....nay even an over 50 footballer in a rec league should know what he's supposed to do if he goes on as DM.....it's not that complicated. It more likely comes down to just not being good enough!

Hodgson has really made two signings. Poulson and Konchesky. Neither of which are [or should I say were] LFC standard. I know I'm one of the few, but for me Insua is better than Konchesky. Poulson, who we basically got for X mil + giving Juventus Aqualani for a year, isn't near as good as Aqualani, without even trying to come near to Masch.

Some will say I'm wrong, but for me the speed the Meireles deal was put together suggests that to me that he was already lined up pre Hodgson in case [or knowing] that Masch went. He just isn't a Hodgson type signing. Do we really see Hodgson picking up some bright shining stars from Europe or South America?

Sunday we had a back four playing together for the first time (had we ever played johnson/soto/skrtel/carra), under a new manager, with a different tactical approach, and a new DM getting used to his team mates and tactics in a new country. All this complicated by the presence of the other team. Should we be surprised there are mistakes that get punished by the opposition?
