[lfc] Re: More Dear Leader Post Match Comments

I see Dear Leader is today saying you don't go from being feted one moment to losing your ability months later. Probably true, but being feted is not much different to being hyped - and many don't live up to it.

Some managerial heroes to zeroes.

The successful Clough at Leeds. The whole squad partied like it was 1994... rather than 74.
Gullit, top 4 with Chelsea when sacked but a nightmare at Newcastle. Shearer and Rob Lee celebrated with bottles of Newcy Brown.
Good spells for Keegan at Newcastle and Fulham but it crashed and burned with England.
Bruce Rioch, wonders with Bolton but despite signing Bergkamp was soon hoofed out of Arsenal. Ian Wright threw a party and crashed a car (probably).
Curbishley, had performed wonders at Charlton and was feted as next England (and Liverpool) boss - went to West Ham; sacked and on the dole.
Mike Walker, another like Curbs who had taken Norwich into Europe - went to Everton, signed Amokachi and gave the Blues their worst start ever. Liverpool fans laughed. Now on the dole... or in a burger van on the A41.
Ramos, high on Europe's 'most wanted' for his achievements with Sevilla but another Spurs dud.
On the subject of Spuds, Jacques Santini was another of Europe's highly rated to fail.

So Roy, yes it all can quickly fall apart as you can go from feted manager to sitting on a punditry coach within a year.
