Maybe the main reason I'm sceptical towards Roy. If we're skint and we're not
going to develop youths, what are we basing our future success on? Our history
alone? Our greatness as a club? Or are we just hoping someone will bail us out?
I think it's a shame if we don't build on Houllier and Rafa's work with the
youth system. They seem to have transformed it and while it hasn't produced
great players so far, the foundations could be there. And if we can sell players
to Fulham and the likes, then it might pay off.
