Lucas was awful today but I thought Poulsen especially in the 2nd half was OK. He doesnt have the tackling ability of Mascherano but seems more aware of forward runs and trying to pick out a pass.

I wonder if this is as much to do with match fitness as anything else. Jovanovic on what I have seen shows all the signs of becoming as good as Voronin unfortunately.

I have sympathy for Torres as once again he was being kicked all over the place and getting no protection from yet another inept referee.

He got a bad kick at the end and signalled that he wanted to come off so perhaps we can keep him at home for the 2 weeks.

One thing I noticed was that we are actually leaving Torres on the half way line at corners rather than have everyone back. I am sure we will benefit from this on occasions when Reina gets the ball and releases it quickly.

I didnt see anything that convinced me we are any different - our starting 11 consisted of 9 players who would probably have started last season and it doesnt look as if there is any more urgency in the team.

It looks to me as if we have used all the Mascherano money on Meireles
and Konchesky so I would be surprised if we do buy anyone else but Roy in his post match interview did hint that we may be trying to do something.
