I was quite amused (about the only thing that amused me in this
morning's game) to hear the ESPN commentators say that Torres made the
wrong choice, when he pushed that ball over to the right, passed the
advancing keeper. Their words paraphrased 'He should have taken the
contact from the keeper and gone down in the area.' They would have
then pilloried him for going down too easy. ;)

On the free kick, we had a similar situation in an A-league game a
couple of weeks ago, where a player was trying to be smart at a free
kick. Ball on spot, player touches it lightly with foot, and then
'apparently' leaves it for someone else to take. Opposition player
realises that it has in fact been played, and charges in, getting there
first. Ref rules that the free kick had in fact been taken. Stupid
play - why complicate matters.

We seem to be playing in second gear all the time, we have an odd spurt into 4th gear but that only lasts for one attack, we also get caught too much in possesion, we just run at the opponent and then stop, don't look for a pass and lose the ball to a simple tackle.
Tonight we should have had Merilies with Lucas and maxi on the wing, Torres is playing deeper and deeper trying to see then ball let alone try and score, he got 2 chances this evening, One ballooned over the top and one that the keeper made a good save.

still, bright side is we are closer to RBS calling in the loan and getting rid of the two muppets, I do think that Woy will be gone almost as soon as new owners come in as they will have their own man for the job, We should have installed Kenny and Ian in the management role, they bleed liverpool and would have instilled some pride into the team.
