Kudos to the Scots - with the Premiership we can weather any upcoming storm
(Blatter will want his revenge), but they are in a far weaker position.
Their league is low-coverage and the top club almost went bust. They have
far more to lose than the English FA and very little protection short of
parachuting a ranting Alex Salmon into Zurich!
As for the rest of Europe - I'm sure that they've all been brought into line
by Platini, who doubtless is more concerned with ensuring his own succession
to the FIFA Presidency when Blatter's term elapses. As much as we loathe
him, he was the only one realistically (given the sheer dominance of UEFA
over the other continental bodies) in with a chance of challenging Blatter -
and that still wouldn't have been easy given Blatter's patronage. It
wouldn't surprise me at all if some deal hadn't been done between the two
whereby Platini gives Blatter a clear run in return for Blatter appointing
him his heir. Expect to see Platini gradually become more high profile and
take on a larger role over the course of the next four years.
As for the Irish FA - BBC News had some Irish executive on who was
effectively criticising the FA and gushing with praise for FIFA. Strangely
he'd just been promoted to some top FIFA job - odd that isn't it.

I have been very disappointed in the response of the other FA's who surely
must see what we see. Last time I heard only the English and Scottish FA's
were making a serious protest. What about Wales? The Republic of Ireland?
Northern Ireland. The Australian FA? The rest of Europe? Where were the rest
of them?
